Why Starbucks is testing an ’emergency’ iPhone app for people who don’t have an iPhone
The Starbucks coffee shop chain is testing a mobile app that lets customers order their coffee using their smartphone or a tablet.
The company says that people who are unable to use their phones or tablets can order coffee online with the app and it’s the first step in a new rollout of its new Starbucks app.
The new iPhone app, dubbed ‘Starbucks Emergency,’ is available in the App Store and on Google Play and is part of the company’s efforts to improve customer service.
The Starbucks app is available for Android and Apple devices.
Starbucks is testing the emergency service app with a number of restaurants across the country.
In addition to the coffee shop chains, Starbucks is also partnering with Whole Foods Market, The Home Depot and The New York Times to test the emergency app.
The app also works with other Starbucks outlets and customers can call customer service for assistance with the coffee ordering process.
