‘Fruit Salad’ on the Menu at a New Orleans BBQ joint
A new restaurant in New Orleans has been named “the new salad bar” by the New Orleans Business Journal.
The “Fruit Shampole” restaurant is located in the historic New Orleans Center neighborhood.
The restaurant features a variety of salads and sandwiches, including a new salad made with a blend of herbs and spices.
The restaurant opened on Oct. 10.
Owner Anthony Baca told the New York Times he’s not a fan of the term salad bar.
He said his salad is simply a combination of ingredients.
He also said the salad is not a salad, but a mixture of vegetables and spices, and there are no ingredients on the menu that he considers a salad.
